Houston Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series at the HMAAC

I was invited to attend the Houston Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series at the Houston Museum of African American Culture.  

Bombay Sapphire Gin, Danny and Russell Simmons' Philanthropic Arts Foundation worked together to host the 2014 Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series. Several new and upcoming artists presented their work of art this evening.  This is the third year in Houston for the event.

I purchased this silver shimmer knit from Mood Fabrics which is sold out.  Due to the elegance and wow factor of the fabric, I knew a making a classic dress was the way to go.  The bodice of the dress was made with pattern I had for a cowl neckline and I added it to the body of McCalls 6886. Simple as that!  I love how the draped neckline adds a bit of elegance to the otherwise plain dress block pattern.
