DIY Peplum top and Pants + ERIC ROBERSON

I was in the process of making these Vogue pants and peplum top by Simplicity and decided I wanted to make an outfit to see Eric Roberson, Lala Hathaway, Tweet, and Ruben Studdard in concert April 19th. I ran across this black and white cotton sateen at Wherehouse Fabric a month back and could not pass it up.  Actually, I left the store without buying it then can back the next day and bought a few yards of it.  It was originally supposed to be for a dress and as you can see I had different plans.

Looks like an ink spill..but this print is so fun and cute to me

I used the gloss gunmetal colored zipper for the back

I made top E with the following alterations:

-4 inverted box pleats instead of pleats from pattern.  Two were in the front matching up with the waist darts, then two pleats on each side.

-6 inch zipper instead of buttons

-Self drafted cut out in back

-Pink elastic across back

The pants needed 2.5" added to the length

I love my neon yellow heels with these pants
